James P. Hines, Senior

Born and raised in Ohio, Jim received his undergraduate degree in Finance and a Masters degree in Accounting from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and his Juris Doctor of Law degree from the University of Florida.
 
While attending the University of Florida School of Law, Jim was a full-time professor in the Accounting Department of the University of Florida College of Business.  In addition, Jim was selected as Executive Editor of the University of Florida Law Review.  After law school, Jim served as an Attorney-Advisor for the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C.
 
Jim is the founding partner of Hines Norman Hines, P.L., and works in many of the firm’s practice areas, with an emphasis on Corporate and Business Law, Taxation, Asset Protection Planning, and Estate Planning.  Jim is rated AV Preeminent with Martindale-Hubbell and was named as a 2013 Top Rated Lawyer in Tampa Legal Leaders.

Christopher H. Norman

Born in Georgia and raised in Georgia and Florida, Christopher received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Florida, where he graduated cum laude, and his Juris Doctor  of Law degree from the University of Florida.
 
Prior to joining Hines Norman Hines, P.L., Christopher practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, focusing on tax matters.
 
Christopher is rated AV Preeminent with Martindale-Hubbell.  As a partner of Hines Norman Hines, P.L.,  Christopher works in many of the firm’s practice areas, with an emphasis on Corporate and Business Law, Taxation, Estate Planning, Employee Retirement Plans, Asset Protection Planning, and Real Estate.

Robert D. Hines

Born in Virginia and raised in Florida, Robert received his undergraduate degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida, and his Juris Doctor of Law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law.
 
Robert co-authored an article with his brother, James P. Hines, Jr., Preparing An Estate Plan – What a Parent of a Special Needs Child Should Consider, Bright Feats Magazine, Spring of 2008 Edition.
 
At Hines Norman Hines, P.L., Robert is a partner and manages the firm’s North Tampa office, which provides legal services in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, and Guardianship administration and litigation.

James P. Hines, Jr.

Born and raised in Florida, Jim Jr. received his undergraduate degree from Stetson University and his Juris Doctor of Law degree from Regent University.
    
Recognized every year since 2013 as a Top Rated Lawyer in Tampa Legal Leaders, Jim Jr. was co-chairperson for the Elder Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association for two years, he was a member of the Board of Directors for the Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce from 1996 through 2012, and he is pro-bono counsel for the Sun City Center Guardianship Foundation.  Jim Jr. was previously nominated for and chosen as a finalist for the prestigious Moral Courage Award, which recognizes outstanding citizens of Hillsborough County.  He has been appointed to the American Red Cross Planned Giving Committee for Hillsborough County.  Jim Jr. has obtained an AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell peer-review rating, which is the highest rating for both legal ability and ethics, and reflects a lawyer who “is recognized for the highest level of skill and integrity.”

Jim Jr. has had four professional articles published to date, “The Use of Special Needs Trusts by Tort Award Recipients,” The Hillsborough County Bar Association Lawyer, June, 1998; “Special Needs Trusts Are Now Available for Persons Over the Age of 65,” The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers Journal, 1998; and “What is the Purpose of Designation of Healthcare Surrogates and Durable Powers of Attorney?” Pathways, a publication of LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care, Fall 2003, Vol. 1, Issue 3.  He co-authored an article with his brother, Robert D. Hines, “Preparing An Estate Plan – What a Parent of a Special Needs Child Should Consider,” Bright Feats Magazine, Spring of 2008 Edition.
